Architecture & Human Rights
Topography of Inclusivity.
The National University of Seoul develops a lecture serie about Architecture Human Rights where Silvia Serreli, Eleonora Carrano & Jorge Lobos will be part of, together to several architects and professors from South Korea.

ARCH+HR present the project PURI ‘recycling water in The Atacama Desert’ for UIA-2023, the Union of International Architects.
The architects Jorge Lobos (Chile 1961) and Nina Jensen (Denmark 1973) were part of the Congress where they showed the pilot projects of recycling grey
water ‘PURI Global’ in the cities of Antofagasta and Sierra Gorda.
Both architects experiment in transforming the current situation in the Atacama Desert, the driest place on the earth, in a green and healthier environment. The possibility to have water produced by the own inhabitants will increase their resilience and preparation for the climate crisis that the world is facing.
The concept ‘Global Bridges’ developed by Architecture & Human Rights was the base of this pilot research project. In this case the goal is to link technological solutions created by IVL Sweden, the Swedish
Institute of Environmental Research and the vulnerable communities in the Atacama Desert. Architecture acts as a method between these two realities, sciences and communities. Through the
water cleaning we can create a green urbanism in a extreme place as Atacama Desert, with the
enormous benefit for the health and wellness of the citizens, said the authors of Puri Global research project.
UIA a Word wide Congress is one of the biggest events of architecture in the planet, belong to the International Union of
Architects, it is developed each three years from 1948 in Lausanne, Switzerland. This congress has been placed in important cities of the architecture world, as Istanbul (2005) Tokio (2011) Rio de
Janeiro (2020). Next congress will be in Barcelona 2026.
In Copenhagen the Congress had several sections, ARCH+HR participated in ‘17 goals &
17 architects’ specifically in the Development Sustainable Goal number 6 WATER. The project
PURI creates a sustainable Oasis with recycled water in the Driest place of the planet, it could be
a paradigmatic research project during the next years.
